Suggestions for a liveaboard?

    Everything about a floating home is a compromise?
    You have to consider how you are going to use it and more importantly where you are going, If its the Bahamas you draft will be a big factor although i have cared six foot all through there.
    The Bahamas is multi hull heaven!!!!:-|

    well there is a lot more to it than just a hull

    and owning a hardwoods business kinda comes in handy as well

    One other suggestion,
    You cold play it smart, Take the wife and Kidd's to the BVIs Charter a cat or a mono hull they even have THE MIGHTY GRAND BANKS CRUISER available.
    This may also be a better introduction to the boat and the lifestyle for you and the family, It gives you full backup mechanics and such yet lets you explore what you ar going to adore

    Well thanks for all the feedback, I will let you know how it goes. Nothing like the sticker chock of moving to DC to make you think outside the box...
