Hi and thank you for allowing me to join. I'm going to jump in with both feet with this question.
First let me prequalify myself, I am a 45 year veteran of the marine industry and have a varied back ground in all facets of the industry. I have pondered for awhile now extending a 32 Luhrs cockpit and adding a bracket or building it integral to the extension. I have owned a 32 open that was originally a gas powered boat that i converted to Cummins diesel. I very much like the ride of that boat and thought a outboard conversion would be a worthy project. I like the lines of the boat but not the short cockpit. I was thinking a 3ft cockpit extension excluding bracket or integral extension. The boat would undergo an interior transformation also, I draw inspiration from a vessel that was built from the ground up. That vessel is the 39' Rough Point, as with this boat I would add a lower station. I would defiantly seek a navel architect to assist in the proper design of the project. Ok any thoughts or input on a project like this. And finally I had seen years a go a 32 stretched to a 35 for sale in Maryland or Virginia, can't finding anything about it on the inter web.
