who likes acrobats $900 pdf 3d viewer (build into the new acrobat)
looks like vrml is still the most versatile and universal after a decade deepfreeze
what is the best 2007 (free) real time 3d viewer

I think more and more cad programs will be able to make 3D PDFs, and you can assume most people have the viewer already.
One possible problem is that you give away too much info, the receiver may convert the 3D model to his own cad program and then modify it or use it in a way you didn't want.

Yipster if you can find a copy of the past 3Dworld magazine i think is #86 there is a free copy of wirefusion demicron where you can import a vrml file and post it to the net for free is very good and for the cost of the magazine it really does the trick i just got myself a copy.

Other way i have used is Viewpoint tools is a little bit tricky to use but IMO is one of the best the only problem is that they want you to pay to publish your work on the net, but for presentations is great.

most o fthe problem i sto be able to reduce the size or compress the models including textures so is easy to load but some work and anyone shoudl be able to do this.

most cad programs export VRML but to view real time 3d over the web you need a player, goes for all the other formats too

acrobat PDF ($900) now has 3d and more but you have to open and view in a PDF viewer

havent thought of giving away but i dont buy it that 15 years old VRML open source never got used nor was supported by the explorer

it needs java applets in html to show real time over the net without viewer instals and now java pretty much gets blocked
or do these two sites show 3d you can rotate with the mouse without (hidden) viewer instals?

hard for me to tell since i got dozens of viewers installed

bout once a year i pick up a copy of 3Dworld mag, i look into wirefusion demicron, sounds like what i'm talking bout
here some other viewers http://www.garybeene.com/3d/3d-pure.htm but to me VRML 97 is still standard

thats few hundred, better thana few thousend
downloaded the demicron wirefusion demo, didnt check if it imports reflextion maps and things like that but the partly working program works
tommorow ill try to read the cover of 3d world if that really is a fully working wirifusion on the CD inside the 3dworld's plastic bag
than again, i rather stick with free vrml or new x3d that also reads vrml, getting that streaming still needs an aplet tho
