Has anyone ever worked with this type of rivet? The end is peened, but there is a strange dimple.

Should I take a drill to this, in order to remove the sheaves?

Semi-tubular, sometimes called a hollow base or Bray rivet, and yes you can drill it out. You will need to use a drill slightly smaller than the shank diameter then pry the rounded over head off.

Edit to add....looks like a Catalina 22 traveler car BTW.

It's a Coronado15, and I think they used some bigger boat parts. What ever inventory they had, must have made it into the C15.

I drilled them out. Now I have some odd sized sheaves to replace. Any suggestions?

Need two: 1" OD, 3/8th" ID, and 3/8th" thick.

Thanks everyone. I checked out that link for zephyrwerks. Right now I am bouncing between three sites; Harken, Ronstan, and Shaefer.

Right now I've got sheave on the brain syndrome.
