Hi, I have a 16'4" dual hull hand made fiber glass boat made almost 30 years ago. The transom is 12 inches narrower than the bow. The aft hull narrows and becomes a flat bottom. I have added flotation and deching; center consul and forward trolling motor snf carry extra fuel in the aft section. When I am alone the boat planes in about 15 seconds, when one more adult as aboard the plain takes forever. The weight is aprox. 1,100 lbs. Recently I added a 65 hp outboard replacing my Merc 25 xp. The boat flies now however takes a minute or so to get on plane with the extra passenger. The hull has no strakes. I am considering trim tabs or speed rails. What do you suggest? Thanks in advance, Sid

iff you can pull it i would say make it trim tabs AND speed rails. the tab's may be the best of the two to get on plane quiker with the extra passenger.
