    There are different kinds of epoxy resin - some are very brittle and intolerant of expansion.

    I've had good results epoxying aluminium with a mildly flexible epoxy using the wet-scour method, the joints of which were subjected to numerous cycles of freezing to 140 degrees F. No problems to date.

    If I were attempting what you propose, I'd be concerned about the leading edge coming away from the inevitable touch on something hard and unforgiving. Suggest bending that edge upwards (if possible) to present a more 'rounded' leading edge, or running some glass tape over it.
