I have been trying to find information on the safe working loads of various chocks and bitts (as required by the Emergency Towing Regulations in the MSC.1/Circ. 1255).

Is there a standard safe working load used for vessel design - as in "a 8" X 10" closed chock is rated at _____ Metric Tons SWL."

Any suggestions where I could find this information? I need to try and find the SWL of all the potential towing fittings for aluminum and steel offshore vessels.
