Hey, I am new to this forum but figured this would be the best way to get what I need. I have a 14' aluminum jon boat and I want to build a rudder for it. I have seen several guys while out fishing that have one but can't get to them to take a photo or get dimensions. So I was wondering if anyone on here could help me out. I have whatever material is needed as I work for a steel company. I just need to know what the length needs to be and how to mount it or bracket it to the boat. If anyone has any photos or any other info that would help me out I would greatly appreciate it. Just email me back at jchance@rilcomfg.com

Hmmm, jon boats are not powered by outboards?

I have very little time for writing in the forum lately, otherwise I would have helped with a drawing.
You could use some standard outboard stock rudder for sailboats - like this one, for example:

or make yourself an assembly like this (from J-point marine site):

Sorry for a stringent info, have to runnnnnnnnnnnn!!! :)
