Definitely your advice is correct and am aware of. This was, as already mentioned, a question raised during discussion with friends aiming to build first own sport fishing boat. We assumed that "whished" aftdeck gunwale height would be possibly asked by the designer who would be involved in. Sofar nothing has been decided upon and those dimensions are approximate.
Once we decide to go ahead no question we have basically to relay on designer's skill first!
