Just a note: <removed> "Baltic Bandit" is now routinely copying my posts from here and reposting them on the "Multihulls" forum on Sailing Anarchy. I no longer participate in that forum because of the vicious personal attacks and <removed so as not to provoke bickering to migrate to here> by this poster and a couple of others. He has copied and pasted posts 646 and 657.

<comments which could be considered as personal attacks/insults have been removed so as not to encourage bickering in this thread; posts split from http://www.boatdesign.net/forums/mu...lf-righting-trimaran-test-model-36058-44.html so that thread can hopefully remain peaceful and on-topic >

I'm sure this heinous breach of human rights will be of immense concern to every member of this forum. :)

Doug, you have been working on this hull for 3 years+. when are we going to see photos or video of it sailing?

When the boat is done. Don't attempt to do the same thing you do on SA-it won't work here.

when can we expect the boat to be done? It has been almost 3 years since you posted the first build photos of the main hull. You have made a lot of predictions in the intervening time.

what is your prediction for completion date?

Its curious given how confident you are of all these predictions that you have made, that you are unwilling to make a prediction on something as simple as a final assembly schedule.

It took 5 years to paint the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel.

It did at that. Last time I was in the Sistine Chapel, it seemed a bit bigger than an RC boat.

As Michelangelo would tell you(if he could, he's dead you know), it is all a matter of perspective.

You don't seem interested in contributing anything Balts. Why not start your own project? Develop your own ideas versus presenting others as yours etc....Life has many tasks, charting in a new idea and keeping quality up is a labor of love, not like banging out a bird house. Often the journey is more instructive than the destination, finding suppliers, fabricating mechanisms etc...This is Doug's thread, if you want to be welcome act like a guest instead of a goon.

Well for one this is hardly a new idea. Various boats have done this before.

Labors of love tend to create an obsession. And obsessions don't lend themselves to being distracted by other digressions - you know - like restarting an old abandoned project just as you are within a few weeks of completion of a project. So I'm just asking why Doug's great new idea seems to be taking so long?

Doug has given us lots of predictions, the one thing he seems unwilling to do is just give us a basic project projection prediction. Don't see how asking that makes me a "goon".

Can you explain to me how calling me a "goon" is consistent with the civil discussion code of behaviour?

Your persistent lack of manners in hounding Doug certainly makes some comment appropriate. "Goon" was luck of the draw as it had a g to go with guest for a lyrical similitude.

You haven't mentioned your own project? Getting off to such a slow start makes you seem unable to project a deadline for yourself. When will you be finished? You might take notes from Doug's methodical approach, and remember he is doing this for fun.

    MPX Test Model

    ==================
Well, as best I can tell-if you're talking about the MPX Test model-thats just not accurate. But in case I'm wrong, maybe you could list one or all of the "various boats that have done this before" ?
