If you watch the video note when the guy is taping the chine to protect it during the roll over. He tapes one section, then tapes a second section. They are not in plane. That is where the step is.

I could not see any step in the middle flat on the bottom. On both adjacent flats, at about mid boat are steps just aft of what looks like a slot for a DSS foil.

Paul, I suggest you watch the video on youtube and full screen. You may see it then........

I did full screen HD and it does look a little more like a very small step across the middle flat connecting the more noticible step on the adjacent flats. Late in the video (just after it first comes to rest in the upright position), the step is very noticable where it meets the sides of the boat.

Looks like you can see the step in that pic. Is it still a canter? I was thinking that the slots in the topside were for DSS type foil but it also looks like they may go thru the deck. So maybe a vert board? Sure looks small/low volume

It has been mentioned on this board that the boat will initially sail as a simple canting keel configuration. So those slots are for the daggerboards.

I grabbed this screen shot where the step is very obvious. It doesn't look like it is any more than maybe 4 inches?

4 inches are more than 10 cm... too much i think.
i suppose that it is no more than probably 5-6 cm (~2 inches)

Whats really interesting is that it appears there are two different size steps-on each outboard side for about 18" it's 2.5 -3.5" or so deep but across the center of the boat very, very small-maybe .5". Very Clement-like for the center section.

You might be right. I had referenced the hand of the guy in yellow, thinking his hand was disappearing behind the step.

Upon closer inspection it appears his hand is actually partially inside the daggerboard slot.
