Another choice is an electric surface piercing drive, mounted from under a turret. The turret itself is hinged onto a large (1/2 the beam and 3/5 the length of SWATH) triangular shaped double hinged bracket under the bridgedeck. The buoyant drive pivots from under the turret. advantage: propulsion efficiency, no thru hull connections, no rudders, more accessible, much simpler installation and maintenance. disadvantage: A man who scattered 13 multihulls(maybe more) all over the Pacific envisioned it?
