    Wynand N Retired Steelboatbuilder

Our larger than life member, boatbuilder par excellence, connoisseur of good firewater and judge of fine women is having his birthday today  and no,
its not Hoyt or me... :(

Manie, many happy returns to you you old fart and go slow on the strong stuff today and may you have many a fair wind to blow you and Fargo off to islands filled with scantly dressed ladies.
May you age well like good whiskey :D

Happy birthday, Manie. Plunk yourself down in your boat long enough to give yourself a toast to dreams accomplished, and dreams to look forward to.

    Thanks guys

jeez 59 today, still cant believe it

you are going to laugh when you read this

I had visitors from OZ - Taiwan and the UK for the past week
my wifes sister has been with us from PE for the past two weeks
this was all for a wedding this past Saturday

anyway the house has been so full - people sleeping all over
That when I said to the missus I will be sleeping in my boat
It was fantastic - Friday and Saturday nights - two nights in a row
    absolute peace and quite

The only "problem" was when I woke up at night to have a pee overboard, I peed on my wifes front wheel .

You know, I've just seen some pictures of the giant redwoods forests, out in California. The way they stand tall and proud year after year, century after century and I have to admit, that their beauty never fails to take my breath away.

Thank you for planting them Manie . . . :p

    Paul,

Hard to type through the tears of laughter. Great line!

    Manie,

Happy birthday. You're blessed to have a friend like Wynand to call attention to your day.

Few things so good as sleeping aboard your own boat. But a good sailor knows to get full situational awareness before pissing overboard. :p

    Many thanks guys

    :) how true

I was rather perplexed when Wynand posted this
when I phoned him to thank him - I asked, but how did you know?
The answer was short and sweet, "I just did your COF and Bouyancy"
    Hellooooo

Jeeez I gotta remember who has copies of my ID documents

This coming Saturday I hope to get to the water and celebrate some!

Now there were some discussions that we should keep the threads boating related (no politics or religion)

so I just wanted to share some "boating pics" with you

    1 Things that float
    2 Stuff that dont float
3 What sailing is all about

#3 can give one nightmares. #4 looked for the inner Chi and found the inner tree instead.

Hey Manie ! You old louse !
Why the hell didn't you say somethin' ?

At your age a 'clapping rhyme' should be appropriate -

A sailor went to sea, sea, sea.
To see what he could see, see, see.
But all that he could see, see, see.
Was the bottom of the deep blue sea, sea, sea.

What else would you do if there's no wind ? Drink ?

Merry Christmas... I mean happy birthday

    :D
