I plan on doing a cummins conversion and need some clarification on what I need to attatche a 72c velvet drive to a 6bt cummins 5.9.

So far I think I need a sae3 bell housing
cummins 11.5" flywheel for sae 3 housing
26 spline damper plate that will bolt to the flywheel
Sae#3 to velvet drive adaptor plate,

Am I on the right track? I was quoted 1950 for all the pieces but I think I cando better individually,

I'm not too sure if the 72C is up for the challenge. I currently am toying around with the idea of a diesel conversion. I have a 454 coupled to a 72 series V-Drive. All research I have done is indicating 240 HP Max Diesel HP into the 72C with a 1.5:1 ratio. I'm looking at a 5.9 Cummins or a 315HP Yanmar as options, and I think that's asking a bit too much of my Velvet drive. What kind of power is your motor estimated at putting out? and what ratio is the trans?
