I have an ESAB welder, it is my second one (sold the first one with my business in 1989), I can only say that it has been fantastic, I would very happily pay again for another one when the time comes.

As a DC welder, the start is smooth the weld is very even and the penetration is as would be expected for the amps that I set it on.

As a TIG set, it does have limited uses for continuous runs, as my handset is air cooled, but it has never stopped me from any work I have done with it.

My very first job with one was to weld the nuts onto booker bar for keel bolts on a Hood 23 we were fixing up. The 3/4 inch bolts simply melted in front of my eyes (at half power, I had it set at 140 when I started and the rep said, mate, turn it down to 80, I though, eh what, but he was right).

Don't pay for **** cos that is what you will get. My mate here is a welder (as being a certified welder), he has used my set many times and he has the Miller. He says they are the same.

My MIG set is also ESAB.....says it all really.
