I'm working on the hatches for the kayak I'm building and looking for suggestions as to what I should use for gaskets on them. The hatches go in like a plug and are held in place by magnets. I'm looking for something that will seal the remaining gap, but not be too thick or else it will hold them up too far above the surrounding deck. What do people suggest?

The green in the drawing below is the gasket material.

Adhesive Weatherstrip tape works on yachts.....it should also work on small craft.
