For day sailing and camp cruising in sheltered waters, both could have leeboards I think, but the dagger in the bridge deck looks OK . . .

I really like the RYD-16.2 but I want to stay under 16' LOA.

If that's a strict limit you could ask PAR if you can shrink her LOD by 9 %, and what the consequences of this are for her other dimensions . .

Drawing - - Text + more drawings there...
P.S. - I'll send PAR a PM, maybe he is willing to give his opinion here about the possibilities of 9 % length shrinkage . . :)

The time is not yet right to begin a new boat, as I must first build new kitchen cabinets to replace the old ones(which I have already torn out) after the terrazzo is reground and new plumbing and tile work have been completed. While that is going on we will be unable to swing a cat(with fur) here, much less a boat hull. :) I will contact PAR when all the craziness is over with around here but don't want him to waste his time until I am more certain about future direction.

Thank you for your interest in this as I do value your input.

The PM to PAR was already sent, so I guess he'll read here it's no actual inquiry for now, but maybe he will answer it anyway . . :)

Sven Yrvind couldn't swing a hairless cat in his mother's basement in the seventies, nevertheless he built a boat in there, and got her out . .

Murphy could be reduced in length 10% without a lot of difficulty, by respacing station molds. Current mold spacing is 24", except for the overhangs, so spacing on 21 5/8" would bring it to about 15' 8". She'd become slightly beamer, but the boat was designed to be a healthy day boat, not a puddle screamer.

I didn't tell you all there ;), the door frame had to be removed in order to get the boat out of the basement . .

I once saw a guy lowering a small pocket cruiser from his second story balcony. He'd built the boat in the family room, but it wouldn't go through the door, so the sliding glass door on the balcony was taken off it's tracks, the boat shoved over the edge after removing the railing and dropped with a 5 - 6 part hand tackle to the ground. I saw this driving by his house and once I stopped laughing, I stopped in to talk about his adventure.
