End Stiffener Condition

    Hi, Could anyone please explain end stiffener condition with example , picture or sketch will be very much suitable. Thank you.

    Leopard, there is a lot more wrapped up in those factors than just the structural details; you can't just copy the joint design and expect a suitable structure. The actual structural joints need to be designed to give the specific case of Table 2 because, unfortunately, in most ship structures you will never actually get "fully fixed" or "simply supported" panel or beam stiffeners. Almost every analysis is going to have to go to the Moment distribution method (i.e. Hardy Cross) or more modern computer oriented methods. The factors of Table 2 are only for ROM ease of checking and not detailed design. (This goes back to the premise behind Classification Societies "Rules"....maximum reasonable assurance given the limited resources available to check the structural design)

    I would suggest you visit Timoshenko's Theory of Plates and Shells if you haven't already had it in a structures class.
