    dar,

    Welcome.

Try posting under "metal boat building". You will find more expertise there. Just click through previous pages and look for the correct catagory at the right.

Can you post images of your boat?

    Take care.

Are you sure this is a Lone Star? Here is a link to the history of Lone Star. http://www.fiberglassics.com/ Mostly they built fiberglass, but there were some aluminum boats. Point at Boat Info. Select Brochures & Literature. Find LoneStar. On the left is short menu. Look at Brochures.

Actually Lone Star Boats made mostly Aluminum boats. Started in the mid-late 40's with only aluminum and then progressed into fiberglass, but still made mostly aluminum hulls right up to the time they sold to Chrysler Marine division in 1964. Might want to check Yahoo groups, there are a couple of good Lone Star groups there.

I actually live about 10 miles from Presque Isle. Didn't think anybody would know where it was if I had put it in the profile anyway. Yeah Potatoes everywhere and not much else. :)
