There is a practice in China when building alloy power vessels to load up the hull with concrete blocks to simulate ME. Main purpose is to correct the hull during the setting out of shaft tubes.
I see no value in doing this when a hull is correctly supported but I am interested in hearing if anyone else thinks this is a valid method with alloy hull construction.
