Hi, I’m building a tillerpilot out of RC guts, namely ardupilot. Hardwarevise it should be on par with top of the line autopilots but the software will be the main issue, obviously. The RC folks simulate their boats in a robotic simulator called gazebo which also has modules for wind and waves. But I haven’t found any full size models or even people using the thing to simulate actual sailboats.

Does anyone have tried this already or be willing to give it a shot? Is something like this interesting for you folks?

I’d be interested in doing the programming side of things but I would at least need a 3D model and some data on weight distribution and so on, ideally of a simple mono hull to start with, like 26 to 36ft, just something I’m familiar with.
