Hi everyone. I am considering starting a new project, with a basic goal to go as fast as possible as safely and cheaply as possible in a lake. (I would be way more than happy with 80-100kph top speed).
I really like Glen-l Picklefork style as it seems easy to build and intuitively looks stable enough. However i would like to have the possibility to try both outboard engine and maybe inboard engine taken from the motorcycle (40-60kw maybe?). Also it would be nice to maybe have room for one passenger.
As well as i understand scaling and making an existing design larger is not trivial and should be done with caution. Are there any general design guidelines that should be followed that I can read? (center of gravity, weight to area ration and so on idk..)
How sensitive to design changes are such boats? Intuition from designing racing RC boats and planes tells me it should not be too bad with careful tweaking.
Or maybe theere already exists open source complete projects with similar ideas that i could follow?

    Thank you for any input!

    They are very sensitive.

An error in an RC boat does not kill you.

Maybe a better idea is a catamaran . Better wave resistant than hydro , although need a trim control . Both cat or hydro you can choose between side be side or tandem seats , in relation to weight distribution . There's in Lithuania are some racing guys and fast boats .
