I looked at the Be Triton 2.0 , I think that is what you want , just on the cheap . You should be able to look at the basic,s of it and build something like it more in line with the prota type .

The famous Canadian philosopher Red Green (Steve Smith), postulated that as men age they develop a desire to make some form of solitary vehicle to squirrel away in and explore. Had quite the humorous take on the topic and it's causes and possible motivations.

Ultimately it culminated in some classic clips, like building a one room reclining theater from a chest freezer.

Never really understood the segment but clearly it struck a nerve. As every few months pops up someone wanting to shove themselves in a bin, coffin liner, tote.... etc and set out on a grand adventure.

Makes for interesting reads at any rate.

Comm, I got enthusiastic about the 'around in 10' race, in 10 foot yachts around the world, and got an 11' plus boat and made it 10', see / search: 'Jack Holt Heron re-imagined', I think its titled, on here. Small 1 man isolation transporter. After a couple hundred Km adventure alone, sailing beautifully, and then being held at anchor by a 7 day gale (camping on shore not in the boat), running out of supplies, snapping a centreboard, and getting towed to safety, I re-evaluated my ambitions. Four foot high standing waves and a 40 Kn+ gale was too much for 10 feet of boat. It's happy in 25 Kn and scary in 30. Yes a puny boat, I know, but heaps of fun and goes anywhere, usually.

But it's good to try these crazy things, spend time having fun experimenting, experiencing, failing, just be prepared to fail in safety.
    Don't be deterred Silvertooth.

Matt, real canvass, about 10' x 10' or 12' x 14,' of heavy waterproof tent canvass, enough to wrap around your bike or whatever, make low sides, and pull taut on the top side with cordage, will/may work. Bigger waves need taller sides. You need good quality eyelets about every 2 or 3 feet to secure it. An off the shelf heavy tarp with added eyelets will probably do it. Not a cheap plastic / vinyl tarp though. Truckers tarps are a bit heavy, cheap shop ones are rubbish. Salvage an old canvass tent's roof.

My amphibious capsule hotel will be made out of two wheelie bins joined together like this

The two wheels midships will act as lee boards and for stability/buoyancy. Each will have single peddles that can be operated either by hand or foot like these kids carts

the rear wheel will be the rudder on water and steering on land like these craft

All I would need is a couple of small wheelie bins like this. Chop the top and side off one of them and fold the other top up to slot the other bin inside then glue and bolt them together

add a jockey wheel with one of the electric bike conversion kits that operate from your phone

2924C4B7-09E3-42A5-8973-1468A17AF099.jpeg I was thinking of welding the handle of the jockey wheel so it acts as the tiller with an extension handle to the cabin. More simple than cable steering.

this would be for steering on land or on the water

You are going to use this on a public highway in the UK? What are the legal implications?

Solgatos link brings up an important point, that being the capacity to film it.

Since the trio left top gear the world had been devoid of middle aged British men attempting amphibious vehicles. We need more of that in this world.
