Siding and Roofing options for a Houseboat

Thank you so much Dan I really appreciate your advice! I'm going to go with the plywood and I was thinking to epoxy coat the topside of the plywood and use fiberglass/epoxy on the edges of each of the joints. I was thinking of leaving the bottom side bare or maybe just painting the bottom side of the plywood since technically it would never be exposed to water. Or do you guys think I should also epoxy the bottom side to be safe?

No reason to epoxy the bottom..if you run ac and the ceiling condenses, that would be bad, but you plan to insulate?

Hey guys for the shower I want to use the densglass as the wall and 2 layers of epoxy over it and then vinyl tile over it so the epoxy serves as the glue for the vinyl as well as a waterproofing layer. I know densglass isn't rated for use in the bathroom because you can't put tile over it but can I use vinyl tiles over it? Thanks in advance to all the awesome people on this forum!!

Don't use densglass. Horrible stuff. Causes nasty injuries, and the surface membrane shears off easily under transverse load. Also much too heavy for how weak it is. Kurdiboard from schluter. Very light, indifferent to water, takes tile perfectly.

Thanks for the info about densglass dogcalvary!! I'm in mexico so it might be hard to find kurdiboard but I will look into it. Can I use cement board and epoxy and vinyl tile over it? I know cement board is heavy but the local hardware stores really don't carry many other options. Thanks in advance guys!!!

Cement board, like hardyboard? Heavy but fire/water/ chemical proof. A much better choice than densglass.

Not easily. Surface too rough. Hard to get a good bond.
