Hi guys, is there a rule of thumb on how far the prop can be from the rudder or the transom. I am building a crackerbox race boat but just for fun not for racing it's designed to run on direct drive but I am trying to fit a velvet 1-1 gearbox from my donor ski boat with a 15 degree shaft angle and a 13x13 4 blade prop the shaft I got with the boat is a bit shorter and will leave about 10" between the prop and the rudder instead of 5" will this work. I have the engine on a mockup of the hull as I need to find the right place and angle to drill my shaft hole. Any help god or bad would be great THANKS.
