    Hi,
We have built the boat. A solar catamaran using 100% renewable energy source. Now what? How do we sell it? How to get to the buyers? How to promote? Target markets? Financing models? Any idea will be highly appreciated. We are based in Bangladesh. Boating history is centuries old, automation, technology use and disruptive innovations were hitherto untrodden, or should I say uncharted!

I think you need to have a good idea of who you think would want to buy your boat. What is your market profile? How much do they need to make in a year to afford your boat? What philosophy or rational would they have to choose a boat like yours over other boats? What do they read, listen to, watch, or browse on the Internet? Who is your ideal customer?

Bangladesh seems like a good central location for the Asian market, but perhaps you're looking farther afield? Shipping, delivery, how do you plan to get your boat to your customer?

Maybe talk to some companies that deliver similar products about who those customers are? Talk to yacht brokers.

Hi, thanks for your first reply. www.ecomarinebd.com is the website. Our objective was to use the power of sun and new technology in batteries, I heard Australia had a great breakthrough in li ion batteries with aluminum in it. Please check the website and let me know what you think about it.

We think the leisure cruising companies are a good target. But mature foreign markets are good too. Trouble is, we are new in modern technology use. Need to go a long way, perhaps with govt support in policies and financing models too. Thanks for you kind response.

    Runinan,

    Welcome to the Forum.

Why did you build the boat?

Thanks for asking. It started with the passion for adventure. Adventure is in everyone's blood, particularly those who are young. But again, the young do not alway have the ideas into execution. The boat is made from that passion to explore terra incognita. But that may also expand, hence the building.

So, the boat is for sale, not the company as it has no profits.
How much do you want for the boat?

We are primarily a building company, so yes, we may also sell the boat and build another. We expect it to fetch us around 145000 USD ONO.
