Rig with diamonds - calculation method?

    Interested in method to calculate rig with diamonds for sailing cat. Any links/ideas?

    if thats area you mean Guilermo has a triangle m2 calculator on his site
    two triangles is a diamond but maybe you mean something else

    You just calculate the load the same way as you would calculate a cap shroud load, for example.

    The wire isn't taking any more load, just redirecting it from the deck (or spreader base where it is picked up by another shroud) back to the mast.

    "The rig is very tall and a carbon mast will be the lightest option to reduce pitching, and all the rigging apart from the forestay and diamonds will be synthetic fibre instead of stainless steel to reduce weight. Diamonds will be stainless rod for minimum stretch and lowest windage."

    thought the stainless rod worth mentoning, carbon and stainless is another study...
