HI....considering a boat that has twin DAF diesels. Boat is Dutch built steel hull. Diesel guys I have talked to know nothing about DAFs even though they are widely used in Europe in buses and trucks. Anyone know of someone with whom I can discuss these engines? Much appreciated!!

Google the company to see where they build them - phone them for dealers.

Daf are good reliable engines and economical in trucks. The only bad one I have heard of is the older 530 hp which had problems with the heads. I know of several daf engines which have made it to 2 mllion km without a rebuild. I think they would be a good boat motor. Lots of low down torque like a mercedes.
