must be very light displacement to be supported on those slim hulls. Is their intent that the solar panels will drive the vessel? Not really feasible if that is the plan, it would be less costly just to burn fuel, the cost of the solar panels, the loss of usable capacity, and the small amount of usual power from the panels would not likely be a viable design. Even if you could get enough power out of the panels, it means there would be very limited speed and useful passenger/cargo capacity compared to cost to build.

Also, if it is meant for ocean going, very large wave would capsize it and it does not appear to have self-righting capability.

looks more like a cartoon than an actual design, might just be an artists rendering to get interest in the concept.

You engaged your brain and spotted the obvious....doh!

"Traditionally, above and below the waterline, it’s the Fluid Dynamic Inefficiency or the immense “Drag”of Superyachts that stands out as their weakest point. The most visible examples are seen in the conspicuous Radome towers and the bow waves of semi-displacement Superyachts which reach levels of Fluid Dynamic Inefficiency that are unmatched by any other form of passenger transport..."

He should be a poet too!! :p

    I just love this one:

"SCOD Presents the 42m Ocean Supremacy. The largest and Greenest among the 10 fastest Superyachts in the SCOD Presents the 42m Ocean Supremacy. The largest and Greenest among the 10 fastest Superyachts in the world. While her maximum speed of 53 knots makes her Pirate proof, her 50% reduction in fuel consumption and 14 knot Zero Carbon cruising speed make her the most advanced Eco Luxury Superyacht that money can buy..."

    Ahhh...bless him :)

This is the same company that designed a better, faster AC 72 than the one that will be racing in the next Americas cup... By moving to soft sails, and a schooner rig. Of course they haven't actually built it yet, but man are they sure it will be faster.
