Having decided to build a 40', wine glass hull, bluewater sailboat I have started the research process by reading the Gougeon Bros Boat Construction Book 5th edition. From there it's onto Elements of Boat Strength by Gerr and Hub Millers' The Laminated Wood Boat Builder. At present, the most appropriate hull construction technique for my project seems to be the strip planking/veneer method. Any suggestions as to what and what not to read would be appreciated. The sooner I finish the research the sooner I can start construction.
