I am interested in building classic style mahagony runabouts. Is a wood stain usually applied to the hull prior to glassing or is the wood left natural and then the fiberglass is buffed to achieve a hight shine. If one were to want to paint a portion of the hull, should this be applied to the wood prior to glassing or should the fiberglass be painted. What type of caulk is best to achieve the white lines between planks on deck. I am doing as much research as possible before undertaking my first project and any insight would be helpful.
