Ten days after leaving Tasmania on his world title bid Tony Bullimore has given up. It seems that during the past few days being "battered" by heavy seas his cat has lost a 'forestay pin'. Lacking a replacement he has decided to limp to New Zealand for a new pin and there following its purchase will return to Hobart and from there 'resume' his record bid....

There's a shock. He lasted a week longer than I thought he would though.

Wow what a hardy sailor, lost his forestay pin and didn't have a spare! Did he call out the Navy to rescue him again!! suprised he just didn't order some poor sod to fly one out to him! I'm sure somebodies Navy will be willing to help the poor wee hard done by man!

Not only did he lose a pin, I reckon he's got a couple of screws loose.

i spose sticking a high ten extension bar from a socket set through and peening the ends would have been too easy. Or maybe fixing the split pin properly foistest would have been the go

Maybe he'll do that next time Poida, because I gather once he's back in Tasmania he intends to 'start' again...
