The Herman Nelson heater spews CO2 and CO, unburned hydrocarbons and used up oxygen. Ok to heat a item, so long as you are not in it

Now that being said, I am referring to the type that was basically an open flame style that
was basically an enclosed Tiger Torch. I see that HN have newer larger ones that must
    be a heat exchanger style.

Right. Turbo swing. That was structurally my first thought when Bluebell mentioned towing, but I thought I'd have to design and build one.

We ordered the clear cover for sunlight, then realized that generally we'd be there after dark, and white would be much better for reflecting back our work lights.

As much as I'm enjoying the process, I want that damn boat.

White is excellent for night lighting.
Often pointing the lights at the tarp makes for nice diffused light.

Being able to roll up the sides by day is nice too.
Or open the ends, or both.

Wind is no longer your friend... until you're done with the cover.

    Nice job. "The Bubble".

PS The Heman-Nelson was a joke.
We used them to warm airplanes.
They would then warm the hanger, a bit.
But, you're right, the air quality out of them is not nice.
Low carbon monoxide (CO) risk if working correctly but lots of CO2.

Hey Blue, you just struck an old memory when you brought up airplanes. Way back when the SR 71 was still in it's test phases, my dad had some experience with helping them set up for test flights. He told me some wild stories about that jet.

6801F-640x413.jpg A blast from the past. Look how flat this boat is running. No 4° here.

Naaah, on the contrary. The centerline keel is operating at slightly more than 4 deg, and the mean buttock probably close to the optimum.

Baeckmo, I'm grinning so hard a casual observer might think I'm not a miserable *******. That's exactly right. It's the twin keels I'm looking at. My tunnel rises at 3 degrees with respect to those keels, but the early sleds it was 2°. If Orlo III's keels are at 2°, the apex of her tunnel is at 4°.

I have a largish or huge collection of old boat magazines. I wonder of the HSS is in any of them?
