+1 - she is looking very impressive.
Will you now be using 'stealer' boards (is this the right name?) for the wedge shaped aperture that is remaining?

No. The chine logs are solid enough I'll just run the planks off the edges and plane them back. Stealers was my first choice, so I could use liquid joinery at that chine, but I felt the changing stiffness would have made them hard to manage.

Right. I see why the question. The chine logs are still square in section. Tomorrow evening I'll plane them down so the planking can run smoothly across them.

    Finished the tunnel. Chine logs a success: only 2 broken planks. 20200229_164100.jpg 20200229_181625.jpg 20200229_181629.jpg 20200229_181632.jpg 20200229_181646.jpg 20200229_181936.jpg 20200229_182019.jpg

20200229_181917.jpg This is a great shot. Really captures the shape of the boat, and how crowded the shop is.

That is definitely a tight fit for sure!
But she is coming along nicely - it must be a real labour of love doing it all with such narrow planks.
Have you finalised the schedule for what you will sheath her with, re number of layers / weight of glass cloth (and I presume epoxy)?

    Well check that out.
I was wondering what progress was being made over there.
I'm so excited I could wet myself, again.

bs -I know he's using epoxy, but the lay-up schedule I don't know.

    Hi folks!

Thanks BB. I've been installing HRV's lately for cash, so I haven't made any progress in the last week.

No Bajansailor. The layup isn't finalized. Elements of Boat Strength gave me ⅝ planking on bulkheads, 38 oz. Of glass per square yard outside and 26 oz inside, in epoxy, but no specific layup. I reckoned I would figure that out, at that stage.

If anyone has suggestions I'd be interested.

Tunnel is done. Time to define the sheer line, then plank sides. I'm thinking end of March. 20200312_211421.jpg 20200312_211450.jpg 20200312_211501.jpg 20200312_211522.jpg
