    Hello all,

I recently acquired this boat and can not find any ID on it, except for a small aluminum plate on the transom which looks like some type of VIN # (ARZ47810A393).

Here are some pics that I hastely took (sorry for the mess).

My main reason for trying to find some info on this boat is because, as you can see, it can be a sail boat, or maybe that is what it originally built for. I just want to use it as a fishing boat using the outboard and trolling motor. The main concern is the "skag" that can be manually lowerd (Pic4) might be a possible leak point. I have not had this boat in the water as yet but it has been in storage for the past 11 years. Some parts of the boat look like they were made in a manufacturing plant, while others look homemade. I was told that one of the previous owners converted it to a sail boat, but have no way of confirming this.

Hope someone can point me in the right direction to get more info.

    Thanks in advance,

    Larry

Try the Coast Guard, they are the ones who assign the manufacturers code (ARZ) so they would know who made it and they MIGHT even tell you. Sam

    SailDesign Old Phart! Stay upwind..

A look at the HIN database reveals that ARZ is the code for Homemade boats in Arkansas. You may be able to go further by contacting USCG directly, though, so don't give up hope yet.
