why go to maxsurf if you have autoship?, to use hydromax?, if that is the situation isn't better to model the hull on maxurf and have a clean file?.

try this....if you have rhino use rhino to go from autoship to maxsurf...iges from autoship to rhino to maxsurf, or download Moi3D is free for now, and open your iges file from autoship (or just try to see if it reads it) and then resave as a 3DM and try maxsurf again, if not, save it as an iges from Moi3D and see if maxsurf reads the file, but i think your best way is to remodel in maxsurf.

Good, I mean if you are going to use Hydromax why bother with other application?..or maybe use something like .Gf (GHS) to read it into hydromax maybe will work.

Just as a comment i done it before and i'm 100% sure Maxsurf reads properly iges files.

    cheers

I tried it just now. Seems to be working perfectly for me. The only thing matter is when A'ship asks to split the object at corners which will eventually result many surfaces to appear at Maxsurf especially if your model has many corners such as on a hard chine boat. But that can be easily solved with bonding the surface edges. Anyway, the best way to run stability checks from a .pr3 file (A'ship) is always to export directly into Autohydro i.e. the .gf file. Bear in mind that .gf files can be read directly either with Autohydro or GHS. They only differ slightly with the run (Macro) files.
