    I learned from new america s cup preparations that race area and its wind dynamics are one of the first been calculated , measured and simulated.

    I think , if north sails creates their cloths with couple of layers of mylar which heat bonded , we can create intelligently laser micro drilled layers to bond on the sailcloth and these cuts or holes can be used to be more powered from one wind angle and less effective from different wind angle.

    If the layers are two or more , they can be used as analog mechanical calculator and makes precalculated action or calculates the action.

    The only thing you will increase with holes in the sail is turbulence and drag. Further, can you explain how holes in a sail become an analog mechanical calculator? I am curious.

    Think like several layers of optical diffractive layers works as neural networks. I thought same can be applied to fluid flow.
    I think you can build several layers of diffractive openings for less drag but higher push.
    I am thinking this technology can be taylor made and game changer.
    If I would have enough money for patent , I would not hesitate to apply.
    This is continuation my first disclosure document in 1995. After 24 years in drawer, I am starting to share.
    I posted that for boomerangs at germany also.
    Not necessarily about turbulence but laminar flow can be engineered.
    Real 3d sail and flow computer.
    Layers and openings can be cut to act differently for each input.

    I bet , in coming 5 years , it will be used.
    Best science fiction, can be tailored for boat hulls underwater or decks.

    You've just grabbed some pictures from the web about a 3D-printed deep learning neural network which uses terahertz light instead of electrons, what has that to do with your wind and sail topic . . ? ?

    as diffractive layers used at terahertz light , i suggest to use sail cloth layers as wind and flow physical neural networks , is it too hard to see one and think another we call it as analogy

    What analogy do you see for light and wind in the context of sail propulsion ?

    you stucked in to light , this is analog physical computation , as light is analog , wind is also analog. if you can control one analog medium with diffractive layers or say cuts or holes , you can control flow with nonlinearity by diffractive layers of sail cloth where clloth intelligently holed or cut and several layers of cut mylar been bonded on to other mylars. each holed layers been connected to other holed cut layer underneath of first.

    forget radiation , think about control of flow with several of layers of golf ball dimples , golf ball is symettric and needs to be equal but sail cloth and race track wind simulation can be match at nonlinearity and possibility to use more correction at several glass lens pieces of camera lenses. more lenses , more correction , more layers of sail cloth , more correction. but there is more , if you can make control even nonlinearity and if you can create intelligence with
    analog physical computing , sail can do lots of things and can be programmed.

    think you have a race car and you optimized the front flow channels for straight driving, if you cover the internal flow channel with intelligent layers , at fast turn , it can save your life.

    for example , you cross the ocean at trade winds and you want your boat deck support the speed with coming wind from back.

    you covered the boat with two layers of adhesive removable cut films and back wind act more than front wind.

    I thought it 24 years ago and it will take another 20 years to make the math and realize it.

    But laser cut the holes on mylar is simple and north sails have the technology.

    That is absolutely wrong. Neither wind are analog. Secondly, only light can be diffracted; not wind. Further, wind (air flow) is non-linear. Making it linear would be the challenge. This it total nonsense.

    Hmmm , air flow cant be diffracted. What about the optimization the cut layers to wind simulation at the area of cup race ?
