battery-electric foiling ferry under development

    Impressive, but with a range of only 25 nm I'd think it's a bit small even at 35 knots.

    25 miles is not very far but there are plenty of ferry services where it would fit in. There also are a many routes that only run a couple of times per day so there would be time to recharge.

    There may only be a handful of IC foiling ferries operating in the world, and there's probably many reasons for that...

    I think this tech is inevitable and has a lot of potential. As a possible passenger, I prefer getting across quickly to longer loading/passage times of a larger traditional ferry. I think there are fast charging methods as well as remote charging methods that could be explored.

    What I want to know is, if they employ a sweeper boat? Hitting something at those speeds would be expensive, if not dangerous.
