Rowing Needle

    Looking for plans and/or info for a rowing needle.
    Inspired by Buckminster Fuller.
    Any help appreciated.

    Not all of Bucky's designs were good. This is a pontoon boat with a light structure on top for the rower. Are you looking for easiest to row or maximum stability?

    I think it would be interesting to build. From what I've read, it should be light, easy to row & stable.

    Interesting. A couple of years ago I did a tandem catamaran for the MR340 canoe race to be powered by pedal driven paddles, the client came from the cycling world and I had done a hull design for a previous 3 man trimaran for the same race. I was of the opinion that a catamaran would always be the second choice to an outrigger style hull because of the extra wetted surface of two hulls.
    Once I sat down and ran some Michlet/Godzilla optimizations the catamaran was the better choice in this particular choice of speed profile and displacement. I learned a bit from the experience.
