Loick ended up bettering Lionel Lemonchois amazing race record for the Route du Rhum by 2 hours, 10 minutes and 34 seconds. The new record stands at 7 days 15 hours 8 minutes and 32 seconds.

There will always be a strong point where the beam meets the float and it's a natural point for the hull to break. I bet the team are glad it broke there much easier to fix than the end of the beam and the support bulkheads inside the float.

Lalou Roucayrol claimed second in the highly competitive Multi50 class his gambit of taking a more northern route didn't really pay off and Erwan Le Roux ended up finding more steady winds to the south that carried him to a convincing victory on FenetreA Cardinal.

A close battle going on at the moment between Gilles Lamire on Rennes Metropole St Malo Agglomeration and Yves le Blevec on Actual in the Multi50 class. Yves has been disadvantaged by a technical stop in Cascais to fix his wind sensor instruments but has gradually run down Gilles to the point where whoever gets the best run through the wind shadow in Guadaloupe will win.

Anne Caseneuve has pulled out a 500nm lead in the Rhum class on her trimaran ANEO and overtaken the bulk of the Class 40 monohull fleet.

Etienne Hochede is still hanging in 5th place in the old "foiler".

This is a pretty long thread so if this question is asked and answered, my apologies and maybe you can direct me to the right location. I can't find any descriptions of the Route du Rhum boats on the site...is that the case?

    Thanks

What details were you after HydroNick? I've not seen a page that compares specs directly on the boats but could be a nice project for a rainy day.
