Could anyone guide me how to use U tube for inclining experiment and how to calculate deflection and angle of inclination.plz help.

    Thanks

Search for Inclining test on the internet.

Class societies tend to prefer at least one pendulum for an inclining experiment. Various clinometers can be used if they can be demonstrated as accurate.

    Thanks
i just want to know how to take readings (tabulate) and get the deflection from that. I've used pendulums for inclining experiment but not U tubes. if you could explain me with one set of readings that's would be good.

U-tube use is exactly same as pendulums, but taken in calculation as separate for each side. U-tube works better on small craft.

Length of tube divided by 2 gives pendulum length. Change of water level in tube is equivalent to deflection of pendulum.

The longer is the U-tube the higher the accuracy. Small 'damper valve' is recommended in the tube, to suppress oscillations of water level.
