    ahh nice :D thanks,
and yeah will most likley just be a solo vessel, mostly to learn bit about building/designing a boat :) but with a use :D

wow o_O defiantly consider it, or something like it.
would be a nice sized fishing boat :)

thinking about building "sir chug" ( no idea why called it that but itll do )
something around 2.4m long 1.2m wide, dimensions not final though :)
    something around 7 or 8ft..

Doing a bit of playing on the computer,

Keep it flat and go to the 1200mm width of a sheet of ply.

was thinking of using like a heavyier duty canvas ( work it out when its built )
    for the doors,
but depends what i want inside ect, its faily skinny to have half a door ect lol :) but with a canvas ect can open/shut it when want to :)
work it out when its get built ( sometime )

The height of your transom will need to be 15", assuming the motor is a short shaft, or 20" for a long shaft. Forget all that superstructure, imo.

Sorry, that boat is ugly enough to put a Yellowbelly off its feed. Oops.

Make it at least 10 feet long, 4 feet wide, 15" deep. Rake the stern 15 degrees from vertical, and the bow you can rake at least 45 degrees from vertical. Thing is too small for cabins.

hence not having a soild door as such,
extra 600mm ? then wont be able to get it out of 1 sheet? :( and have another place to fall apart / leak,
its for 1 person about 8ft is enough i think?
    would look something like
    [IMG] if did it..

if not ill just make another punt ish thing, 2400x1600x500
simple and would work fine lol

yeah was wondering about that, how much to flare it out..
most flat bottom boats dont really flare much ( THAT IVE SEEN )

the reason for building a smaller boat ( like 8ft..ish ) is to learn about building a boat, without costing a heap.. 1st year apprentice dont make much lol
it would just be a " :D look what i made " use it a few times here and their, but mostly a stepping stone to build something a bit bigger, ect ( hopfully/maybe )

again, this will be a solo vessel, without much power at all, might not even have a motor for a while lol ...
if can get it on the trailer might take it down the river ( would like to when its built and tested.. )

i like the design of the chug boat lol. but hey a punt would work... not sure which to choose..

and yeah i will be changing the plans ( to add for things i havnt thought about, because pretty much 1st boat thought about more then a few hours haha )

I wouldn't be worrying about flaring the sides of this masterpiece, just run a strip of wood along the outside of it halfway or so up the sides, that will keep wave(lets) from putting water into the boat.
