    Hi friends,

Some days I am trying to make contact by email with the Mystic Seaport Museum, Daniel S. Gregory Ships Plans Library in Connecticut, but I'm not getting a response.

Among others, this museum holds a plans collection of Mr. Philip L. Rhodes and am interested in buying the plans for the "Rhodes 19 - Hurricane Class Sloop". If possible,
only sheets of lines and drawings of the rudder and centerboard.

Someone in the area could help me?

    Address of the museum:
    http://www.mysticseaport.org/

    Address of collection:
    http://library.mysticseaport.org/manuscripts/coll/spcoll080.cfm

    Designer:
    Philip L. Rhodes - Collection 80 - File 80.158 - Design #508

    Model:
Rhodes 19 - Hurricane class sloop boat.

    Thanks for help,
    Valter.f

    Rhodes 19

This info may help but I've never heard the Rhodes 19 called "Hurricane" so you may be talking about an entirely different boat but just in case:

UPDATE: surprises me but it sure is called "Hurricane Class" by some! Funny that I never heard that in 60+ years on or near the water! Live and learn....I always like the Rhodes 19 and the O'Day 17 that are a bit similar in appearance.

    Hello Doug,

The O'day boats, including the current Rhodes 19 of Stuart Marine, has
today the same hull, with only minor changes in the deck and never in
shape. A result of the struggle of those responsible for organizing the class.
See the story on this site when it still was called "Smyra" :):

As for O'day 17, is attached a folder with the lines drawing of the old
Rhodes "18" that most resembles him.

    Thanks buddy,

    Doug,
In November we will have a presentation about boats "post war" in its
original features and do not know better choice than Rhodes 18/19.
As the shape is the same, maybe, after, I'll build one with foam and
fiberglass and try to modernize it as the by S.Marine. But those are
    only plans ...:)
    Thanks.
