The inner sides, soft top sides. Made them of childrens swimming tubes that I cut in half.

The inner old panels were removed, as also the little closets behind the panels. The closets just had to be cleaned real good and I made two new panels.

The chrome strips just had to be polished.

Steeringwheel repainted and back in, and a sidelight. I did searched for an original, but I couldnt find it anywhere so I placed a '66 Chevvy searchlight. And put a carpet in with a "breathing"rubber back thru wich water can slide away.

I brought the old patches for the benches also to John who did a good upholstery for me, the result is awesome. The materials are original Riva.

Enjoyed my boat just one week before...............water did came in... The boat had to come out of the water to check it and to repare.
Took the metal strips off to see the damage.
The left front outside panel opened almost 2mm at the front.

[IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

Repared it with three layers of epoxy "carpets" and put the strips back on and put the boat back in the water.
And if that wasnt enough, the engine wouldnt start anymore..... so, the boat again out of the water and brought it to the nearest Mercury dealer in Manerba near Salo.

[IMG] [IMG] [IMG] And no.... I'm not pleased at all.!!! Can you see??

The boat was checked by Zanka in Manerba and what seems the problem, the magnetoshaft had so many userdamage that the "points" couldnt be set on time anymore. :(
So, no water anymore for the next two weeks I would be in Italy. I settled the boat next to my tent and I had to explain many times to people on the campingsite why my boat was next to the tent and not in the water.......

    [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

Back home I started my search for a "new" magnetoshaft. After a short but good search on the internet and via some forums I found a used but very good magnetoshaft in the USA at MercGuy.com http://www.mercguy.com/motors_for_sale.htm

Left the old one, you can see the userdamage and right the "new" one, really almost as new.

    A showoff................... lol
Thanks Butch, I see that as a compliment.
But, for so far my boat. The shaft isnt placed back yet but thats ok, the weather isnt that good to put him in the water so one of these weeks a friend of mine will help me with putting it all back together again and make it work........ and for the testing in spring next year..... before it goes with me to Italy again.
