Are you about to start on the restoration of 'America' now?
Please do post lots of photos..... is this happening in Italy?

I remember seeing a replica of America in English Harbour, Antigua in the mid 70's, and thinking that she looked beautiful - maybe this one?

Looks great. What wood type are the frames, floors, keel?
    Sawn frames? Bolted together sections?

It's depressing. Burgess's Nina lost at sea. Western Union abandoned at Robbie's Marina. Queen Anne's Revenge II sunk at Jewfish creek. America left to one person to caretake. Their old captains are all passed as well. I wonder how many years Bluenose II has left in her.

i am not her caretaker, i have rebuilt her 200 metres planking, alone all new deckbeams, halfbeams mast partners, blocking, new deck alone, all new bulwarks alone, new stern alone, new framing, keelson, part new beamshelves, all new sole bearers alone, fitted all new 6 stainless steel tanks alone, fitted 2 new stainless mast steps alone and found the position for these things, after the butchers destroyed her deck and interior, tightened all the keelbolts, thousands of new fastenings, fitted new fwd bitts and blocking, all new stanchions, removed and checked all chainplate bolts and new channel tops,
