I'm looking for advice on repowering my 1952 18' Palmer Scott. The boat currently has a 1980's 4107 Westerbeke 40hp diesel inboard and makes a max speed of 9kts. I have 2001 4JhTE 75hp yanmar diesel that I would like to put in it for some added speed and reliability.

Has anyone here repowered a Palmer Scott 18?

Input on marine gear to pair with the yanmar, propellar size and pitch, estimates as to what speed the boat would make, and what challenges I might encounter with this repower would be appreciated.

    Chris
