Hi, We're pulling out our 1983 Masterfab Houseboat & would like advice on repairing the steel hulls. It doesn't leak but since it's out of the water, we want to sandblast & recoat. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Jim & PJ

Check the inside of the hull, that's where most of the damage usually is. Most of it could be inaccessable, so it doesn't hurt to cut a hole in a closet floor or under a cabinet or in the center under the carpet to get a look at the inside of the hull. People who work on them have testers to somehow measure the thickness of the steel, some older boats have been replated a time or two.
