I've finished painting the bottom of the boat. Very tedious when working on a lapstrake hull. Seems to have turned out ok. I'm working on the mast, rudder, and daggerboard next. I wish I had a separate paint room, but I'm just grateful to have a garage. It's easy to become impatient and hurry things up but I can't do that and ahave a decent job.

How many trout are you up to now Timgoz?

    That's a nice looking boat,
    tasteful colors.
    How is the rig?

    Hey Flydog.

Approx. 65 Rainbow, 4 Brook, & 2 Browns. Except for two of mine my cousin (who was fishless the day we went :p) kept to eat, all were safely returned to their watery abode, there to catch another day.

I hope to get my sea kayak registered this week and get some paddling done. Need the excerise to loose the winter blubber.

    Rigging

Like I said, I'm working on the mast right now. It will be a sliding gunter rig. I just put the order in for a sail from a guy just south of Pittsburgh. The sail rig needs three pieces of wood: mast, gaff, and boom. I may be tempted to launch her before the sail is finished. Would that be a sin?
    Uff Da!

I don't think that will be a sin either (neither?)!
I once had an 18 feet lapstrake sailing boat, like the one below.
Mine was painted on the outside and oiled on the inside.
