reinforcing oars

    Has anybody experimented with using fiberglass and epoxy to reinforce wooden oars? I'm thinking of wrapping mine with 6 ounce fiberglass cloth and epoxy to strengthen my 7 ft homemade oars. Any advice out there? Thanks in advance.
