She is looking very fine indeed - an excellent example of amazing craftsmanship and a true labour of love and dedication that took years to accomplish.
Please do post more photos, lots more photos of her, when you are able.

And no worries re the title - we all know that she is a Skoota!

Always a hand-wide water under the keel

    What does this mean??

Or is it always keep water under the keel?

    or is the translation wrong?

    Ich spreche ein bischen Deutsch..

About 12000 hours is the estimate. Full time 5 years. It was outside last 2 years in the tent, but I kept pretty busy..heated the cabin insides.

That is a wish towards sailors in Gemany especially at a boats launch: free translated in my poor English: "may you never run aground"

    Often shortened to "Handbreit!"

    found in "www.leo.org":

    Vielen dank!

Perhaps that my keels are designed to beach has thrown off my good senses.

    Fair winds to you Heimfried!

I would like to try working on a bigger boat inside or under cover sometime, just to understand what it feel like...
    :)
Are you splashing yet this year?
Did you do anything special to the keels for 'beach-ability'?

Hopefullly! We are working to find insurer for custom vac bag build. All top of the line core and epoxy.

The keels are pretty beefed up and the laminates there are extensive to support the vessel weight. All specified by @Richard Woods .

There are sacrificial timbers bonded to the bottom of the keels. I used 5200 and kept support under the bond for several months. There is no mechanical bond...hoping it holds well.
